Quicksilver Returning For X- Men: Dark Phoenix. Following two scene- stealing appearances in the X- Men franchise, Evan Peters will be back as Quicksilver for X- Men: Dark Phoenix. As 2. 0th Century Fox looked to further soft reboot the X- Men franchise in 2. X- Men: Days of Future Past to crossover both timelines of their main story. The result was a big success as it further told the stories of the younger characters met in X- Men: First Class, but also closed the chapter on the original trilogy. Included in this ensemble was the debut of Peters as Quicksilver. Despite his look being initially scoffed at, all it took was his first slow motion sequence to make him an instant fan favorite.

Peters reprised his role for X- Men: Apocalypse, but with Dark Phoenix going into the cosmos and him not being part of the initial cast announcement, some wondered if he would sit this one out. That will not be the case. THR has confirmed that Evan Peters will make his third appearance as Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver, the speedy son of Magneto. While no information has been given regarding the size of his role, first time director Simon Kinberg is surely going to put his powers on display in some new creative fashion. Also joining the ensemble is Lamar Johnson (The Next Step), but his role hasn’t been disclosed at this point. Peters re- joins the mainstay of Apocalypse‘s cast that’s comprised of James Mc. Avoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Kodi Smit- Mc.

Phee (Nightcrawler), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), and Sophie Turner (Jean Grey) – who will have a much bigger role this time around. With the movie aiming to retell The Dark Phoenix Saga from the comics (in better fashion than X- Men: The Last Stand), they will stray from the source material here to include Quicksilver in the story. But, with a potentially galactic heavy film, it may be a small role for Quicksilver, yet hopefully one that allows him to finally confront his father. The addition of Johnson meanwhile makes him the first new cast member that isn’t Jessica Chastain – who’ll play the villainous Shi’ar Empress Lilandra. With no information to go on with his role, there is no telling what it could be or how big it will be. Sets have already begun to be constructed for the film ahead of cameras rolling next week. Once production is officially underway, there is the chance Johnson’s role will be confirmed by Fox, or they’ll let his and any other newcomers’ roles remain secrets for the time being.
